Overview of Board Mounted Prints
Our board mounted prints are the perfect way to display your work for exhibitions, galleries and in your studios as well as for passing as gifts to friends & family. The process of archival art mounting involves fixing your artwork using a dry, non-corrosive sheet of glue to a substrate or backing. This enables your print to sit flat either directly on to a wall or in a frame. Made from 100% virgin fibre, with a 2mm thickness, board mounted prints are an exceptionally light and cost-effective mount for creating a beautiful flat print prior to framing. Please note, these items are not matted prints, they can be designed full bleed or with a border of your choice. Caution should be made when fixing them to walls and during transportation due to their slight flexibility in comparison to our other mounted substrates.

How To Display Your Board Mounted Print
Board mounted prints are supplied with separate velcro strips, which are popular for a quick and simple solution to fixing your lighter weight prints onto a wall for exhibitions. Alternatively stand your mounted print directly on an easel for an instant display or easy handling if required. For a completely flat finish, we recommend framing these board mounted prints due to their lack of complete rigidity.
Packaging & Delivery For Board Mounted Prints
SIMAB provides bespoke boxes for all mounting & laminating orders as well as for our canvas & photo wrap orders. This includes a custom size presentation box to ensure your products are sufficiently protected in transit. If you are ordering any of these products, you MUST ensure you select the correct shipping option via the delivery dropdown at the checkout as this will not be automatically selected. If the correct shipping is not selected for your order, your order will not be processed until this payment has been processed over the phone. To avoid any unnecessary delays to your orders, please ensure the correct shipping option is selected on each order as detailed below.

The bleed area is 3-5mm around every edge that will be subject to trimming or movement during the printing process. We advise for the bleed area of your image to be excess background and do not advise key features such as heads or feet to be placed too close to the top, bottom or outside edges. This will also include any borders, keylines or text that you may add to your designs. For this reason, we do not advise adding your own border of less than 10mm to your images before uploading. Please be aware that this is an automatic process so cannot be avoided but submitting your file correctly with any important elements within the safe margin will ensure that no unwanted cropping will occur.
Bespoke Sizes for Board Mounted Prints
For our board mounted prints, if you cannot find the ideal size in our list of standard sizing, you may be able to order a custom size. Designing a bespoke size print is easy, you simply float your image on a background of the next available larger size that your desired print will fit onto. For example, if you are looking for a 10x7” print, as this is not a standard size that we would offer, you would need to select the 10x8” print option.
For standard photographic prints, we do not offer any bespoke trimming, but you can still design a custom print to trim down at home once you receive your order if required. All sizes are trimmed to approximately and bespoke images will still require bleed when trimmed. Due to the hand finished nature of many of our products, all bespoke sizes will be approximate and cannot be guaranteed to the millimetre.
